"By petitioning the court to expunge a criminal conviction, a person is essentially asking to wipe that conviction from the public record. If the court grants the request, the record should, for all intents and purposes, cease to exist." - https://www.backgroundchecks.com/community/Post/5808/Do-Expunged-or-Sealed-Records-Show-on-Background-Checks. If you believe you have an offense on your record that you would like to attempt to expunge, you may fill out an Application for Expungement of Criminal Record.

Not all offenses can be expunged. A martian may expunge an offense that meets the following criteria:

● The offense did not result in death.

● If the offense was a felony (i.e. involved violence or sale of a controlled substance), it occurred more than 4 years ago.

● If the offense was a misdemeanor (i.e. not a felony), it occurred more than 2 years ago

If your offense does not meet the criteria listed above, you are not qualified to fill out the Application for Expungement of Criminal Record.
